Mr. Quickie Corporation

Mr.Quickie

MR. Quickie embarked on its journey in 1981 when Mr. Emiliano R. Caruncho III recognized the presence of several shoe cobblers in a popular mall at that time.

MR. Quickie noticed the need for skilled restorers of shoes and bags. He pondered on how to meet and surpass customers’ expectations, particularly in terms of trust and craftsmanship. During that period, shoe cobblers were commonly found on the streets or near public markets.  They offered their shoe repair services to passersby.

Mr. Caruncho’s main concern revolved around establishing trust and demonstrating exceptional craftsmanship.

He questioned whether good craftsmanship alone could earn people’s respect and trust, particularly when it came to repairing expensive items. These uncertainties prompted Mr. Caruncho to further explore the need for skilled shoemakers. From there he gathered inspiration from shoe repair shops in Asia and Europe.

He was Motivated by the vision of a repair shop with trustworthy staff boasting exceptional shoe repair skills. Mr. Caruncho established the concept of a “Shoes and Bags Hospital.” While the concept itself was not entirely new, the idea of professionalizing the industry was groundbreaking.

He aimed to create a repair shop that could be trusted to deliver legacy craftsmanship in a quick and easily accessible manner. And all under one name, he called it MR. QUICKIE.

Mr. Caruncho’s determination faced a significant test when his first shop at Harrison Plaza was destroyed by fire. However, his conviction remained unwavering, and he viewed the setback as a challenge rather than a defeat.

He believed that his vision could serve every Filipino, and his perseverance paid off as MR. Quickie became a household name over the years. When it came to shoe and bag emergencies, every Filipino knew that MR. Quickie was the name to trust.

The brand’s apparent value for customers and employees played a pivotal role in its success. Mr. Caruncho recognized the accomplishments of deserving employees by rewarding their loyalty and hard work with franchise shops.

In 1995, Mr. Emiliano Caruncho IV took on the leadership responsibility.

It was during his tenure that MR. Quickie set its sights on expanding the number of shops by awarding franchises to aspiring Filipino entrepreneurs. The number of MR. Quickie branches continued to multiply, providing opportunities for many entrepreneurs through the franchise program. Today, MR. Quickie has established more than 200 shops nationwide and continues to experience steady growth.

To meet the evolving needs of its loyal customers, MR. Quickie constantly innovates and adds new services to its repertoire. In addition to shoe and bag repairs, the brand introduced services such as rubber stamping, embroidery, and clothing alteration.

This expansion led to MR. Quickie gaining recognition as a “One-Stop Quick Repair Shop.”

In order to carry forward the brand’s legacy, the company consistently identifies the demands of the fast-changing market. As a result, new concepts were developed under the MR. Quickie umbrella, each with distinct characteristics that align with the demands of the modern market. Examples of these new concepts include Royal Restore, Kwikeys, and Sneakerlab, which enhance the brand’s offerings.

Royal Restore specializes in premium repair services for highly valued items, catering to customers with a discerning taste for perfection. Kwikeys, on the other hand, is a key specialist that offers a wide range of key-related services. Lastly, Sneakerlab is an expert in innovative restoration services for all types of sneakers, designed to meet the needs of sneaker enthusiasts.

Presently, MR. Quickie continues to be the number one brand for high-quality yet affordable shoe and bag repairs, as well as quick and accurate key duplication.

The brand continuously expands its reach by opening more accessible branches.  Also investing in research, training, and partnerships to ensure the highest quality products and services. The company shares its unstoppable growth with its employees through ongoing franchise awards, motorcycle loans, livelihood training programs, and various future projects aimed at enhancing the lives of its dedicated employees, who are always ready to provide excellent service.

In summary, MR. Quickie’s journey began with the realization of a need for highly skilled shoemakers and the desire to provide trustworthy craftmanship in a quick and accessible manner.

Through perseverance, vision, and a focus on customer and employee value, MR. Quickie has become a renowned name in the shoe and bag repair industry. With an ever-expanding network of branches and new service offerings, the brand continues to meet the evolving needs of its loyal customers while providing opportunities for aspiring entrepreneurs through franchising.
