Kori kohi

Kori kohi is a popular and unique Japanese coffee drink franchise that stands out due to the frozen coffee cubes it features instead of the typical hot brew.
When these cubes are paired with milk, they create a smooth and creamy latte-like beverage. Living in the hot climate of Metro Manila, many coffee enthusiasts opt for chilled coffee drinks to refresh themselves.
One coffee shop, Kohi, located in Makati, is introducing this drink to the local coffee market and hoping to become the next big coffee franchise.
Kohi’s innovative concept was brought to life by Bryan Co and Rayan Moussa during the pandemic. Both partners faced financial strain as existing business owners in the design and automotive industries and decided to create a new income-generating venture. While riding their bikes, they came across a local pop-up coffee shop, which sparked inspiration.
Since they shared a love for Japanese food, they naturally blended their passion for coffee with a distinctly Japanese influence.
Kohi’s exterior is minimalistic and wood-paneled, reminiscent of traditional Japanese coffee shops. Although relatively small, Kohi welcomes its community with an open-window service concept, and a few outdoor tables and chairs are available for those who prefer to sit and enjoy their coffee. Initially, the coffee shop planned to offer only takeaway service, but the owners soon realized that customers enjoyed the cozy outdoor area while sipping their kori kohi or other tempting beverages.
Kohi’s famous Kori Kohi is the star of its beverage lineup.
This drink features frozen coffee cubes made from a blend of Sagada Arabica and Kalinga Robusta. You begin enjoying this drink by pouring warm milk over the cubes. The coffee then slowly infuses the milk, creating a robust, dark flavor enhanced by sweet syrup. The Kori Kohi also comes in other delightful flavors, including Vanilla, Chocolate, Matcha, and the bestseller, Salted Caramel. For those who prefer classic coffee, Kohi offers hot coffee options like Black or Mocha, as well as chilled delights like Creamy White or Choco Dream. Additionally, Kohi offers Homebaked Donuts in enticing flavors like Maple Bacon and Nutella, or Hottu Doggu, a Japanese sausage sandwich.
Kohi actively positions itself as a promising player in the coffee industry. Its signature kori kohi and other unique offerings actively carve out its own distinct niche.
As inventive coffee shops continue to transform into thriving franchises, Kohi could be the next champion of the coffee franchise game in the near future. With its one-of-a-kind blend of traditional hot and modern cold brews, the diversity of flavors on offer, and a strategic location in Metro Manila, Kohi is slowly but steadily building its reputation as a major contender in the coffee shop industry.
In summary, kori kohi is more than just a creative twist on classic coffee. By introducing this flavorful brew to a wider audience, Kohi is elevating the coffee-drinking experience. As the Metro Manila heat persists, so does the potential of Kohi’s kori kohi, which could evolve into the next formidable coffee franchise in the Philippines.
